Jeff Jackson, of Happy Planet Running, will speak at the Chelsea Zero Waste Coalition meeting on March 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 311 S. Main St.
His company provides Zero Waste services to various races and other athletic events around the state.
At a recent 5K on Super Bowl Sunday in Novi, nearly 900 participants generated 151 pounds of waste – 99.6% of which was able to be composted or recycled due to Happy Planet Running’s efforts.
Everyone is invited to attend to hear more about the lessons Jeff has learned (some “the hard way”) over the six years of making running events more environmentally friendly.
