March 17: “Three Billy Goats Gruff” next Chelsea Chamber Players’ concert

The next Chelsea Chamber Players’ concert is planned for Sunday, March 17 at 3 p.m. at the Chelsea Depot.

This spring concert is always geared toward young children and is, of course, free.

The program will be “The Three Billy Goats Gruff with music by James Scott Ballentine and the text as adapted by Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio.

Ian Cumming will narrate and will play the violin along with Alison Campbell. Nathan Peters will play viola, Sara Cumming will play the cello and Jed Fritzemeier will play bass.

Here’s a little history about the group from its website. The concert series began in September 2000, thanks to a cooperative effort between the Chelsea Chamber Players and the Chelsea Depot Association. The two groups agreed to renovate the historic railway depot as a home for the players, allowing rehearsal and concert space at no charge.
