March 30: Everyone is invited to Meet the Authors

Thanks to a generous grant from the Chelsea Education Foundation, the Chelsea District Library was able to purchase more than 320 books for Chelsea students in grades 1-6 as part of the library’s Authors in Chelsea program.

At North Creek Elementary, books by picture book author and illustrator Dan Yaccarino were dispersed to classroom teachers and the school library.

Ruth McNally Barshaw’s chapter book series made its way through the classrooms and school library at South Meadows Elementary.

At Beach Middle School, William Durbin’s historical fiction book, The Broken Blade, was incorporated into the curriculum and all 6th grade students had a chance to read it.

The authors will be visiting students at their respective schools during Authors in Chelsea on Wednesday and Thursday, March 30-31.

Additionally, the entire community is invited to Meet the Authors for presentations from all three authors and a book signing on Wednesday, March 30, 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Room 100 at the Washington Street Education Center (500 Washington St.).

Books will be available for  purchase at this event courtesy of Just Imagine Bookstore.
