7 Gold

7 Gold volleyball won the tri-meet at Saline Monday night.

They beat both Lincoln and Saline. Morgan Grim played her personal best with great net play against Saline with multiple tips and hits.

Gianna Barney served up Saline for the win in the third match and made great plays at the net and back row.

Ava Skrypec had great serves and back row skills throughout.

Abria Eckert played the net with dumps to the back line and had some great digs in all matches.

Peyton Myers came through in both back row and front row with multiple digs, sets, and tips at the net.

This was a long-awaited victory and all girls played hard to deserve this win.

8 Blue

Chelsea 8th grade blue won on home court 12-25, 25-13, 25-22.

The team could not seem to get going the first match. Pinckney had some strong servers.

Marlo Gobba played the best game to date.

Megan Brown got a kill at the net. Each time the team plays, there’s improvement.

Chelsea played its final home match vs the Pirates and took the first 2 sets to quickly steal the match, 25-16, 25-23, and 25-15.

The Dawgs have developed significantly since their first match and the team looks good, playing their positions, and setting up plays.

“All parts of the game can now be seen and I am very proud at where we are now with our overall skill,” said coach Laura Ouellette. “I especially enjoy watching them support each other with the highs and lows of the match.”

We have players that could not serve or pass well at the start of the season and are now serving and passing consistently.

“The hitting success has also been a highlight I did not expect to see at this young age but we have some with great agility,” the coach said.

Anna Mosher continues to be one of the most consistent players and showed us all with her serving ability with 11 in a row and 14 overall.

Charlie Schmunk and Audrey McCarley also had 8 serves over.

Net play continues to be good by Brooke Hurst and Melina King.
