Mondays at Jet’s Pizza is all about kids and the community.

Owner Jason Povich said having a special night each week for children and their families is something that is being done in surrounding communities and he wanted to do something special for them in Chelsea.

And, as part of this celebration, every Monday from 4-8 p.m., dine-in customers can take home a balloon sculpture designed by John Charlton of Carleton, Mich.

Plus, during September, dine-in customers can support Chelsea Recreation as 10 percent of the sales will be donated to the local organization.

“The balloon animals are for everyone,” says Charlton, who added that the little kids love them and once they have one in hand, the older kids change their minds and want one, too.

In fact, Charlton says, even adults get in on the action, requesting one of his 400 different designs.

In addition to the family fun on Monday nights, Povich says, Jet’s specializes in craft beers and adults can enjoy 41 different beers while they are in the restaurant.

Tuesdays, he says, is Brew and View night where in addition to deep discounts on beers, a feature-length film is shown in the dining room beginning at 8 p.m.

If you’re a fan of trivia, be sure to stop by Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. and see how you do against the competition.
