On Friday, Nov. 23, Saturday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 25, Chelsea businesses such as Global Marketplace and Breathe Yoga will be participating in Chelsea Gold, a special shop local effort that supports the Chelsea District Schools.
Participating businesses will have balloons outside their doors signifying participation.
The participating businesses have chosen to donate a percentage of their sales to the school district.
“We were thrilled to help distribute the signs supporting our teachers in their contract negotiations,” said Global Marketplace owner Kevin Frahm.
“We are thrilled with the success of our schools, including the cross country team (that won the state championship for the second year in a row) and the football team (which is headed to Ford Field on Friday to play in the state championship game),” he said.
“This is just part of our giving back to the community,” Frahm said of the yearly event.
Global Marketplace will be closing early on Nov. 23 so the owners can attend the state championship football game. Please check the store’s Facebook page for hours.
The shop will be open Saturday Nov. 24 from 10a.m.-8 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 25 from noon until 5 p.m.
