Nov. 3: Chelsea Writers’ Workshop to feature author Polly Rosenwaike

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Meg Glower for the information in this story.)

Author Polly Rosenwaike will be the featured guest author of the Chelsea Writers’ Workshop on Nov. 3 at the Washington Street Education Center.

She will discuss her writing process, answer questions, and lead a critique of the work of two workshop members from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Rosenwaike has published stories in The O. Henry Prize Stories 2013, Glimmer Train, New England Review, Colorado Review, Iron Horse Literary Review, New Delta Review, and other magazines. She regularly reviews books for the San Francisco Chronicle; her reviews and essays have also appeared in the New York Times Book Review, The Millions, and The Brooklyn Rail.

She has taught creative writing to college students at Eastern Michigan University and to elementary and middle school students through Seattle Arts & Lectures’ Writers in the Schools program and Hugo House. Currently, she serves as fiction editor for Michigan Quarterly Review and works as a freelance editor.

Her recently published book, Look How Happy I’m Making You, is a collection of stories about motherhood. Reviewer Meaghan O’Connell says “—funny, intimate, casually profound…. Rosenwaike’s women all have different desires, different fates, different circumstances, but each of them conquers the maddening unknown of motherhood with richness and depth.”

This program will take place in Board Room of the Washington Street Education Center, 500 Washington St.

Everyone is welcome and the event is free to current workshop members and costs $10 at the door for guests.
