Nov. 9: 14th annual Wine, Women & Shopping event

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Doris Galvin of D&B Marketing for the information in this story.)

Local businesses will officially herald in the holiday season with the 14th Annual Wine, Women & Shopping event on Saturday, Nov. 9 beginning at 10 a.m.

Each of the past 13 years, hundreds of shoppers, many of them women, have come to Chelsea to shop, eat, listen to music and see a play.

“We’re very grateful to all of our loyal customers,” says Jennifer Fairfield, owner of The Garden Mill in a press release. “Small business owners rely on the support of our community.”

Raffles & Specials – With more than 30 merchants and restaurants offering their holiday finest and customer incentives, it’s easy to understand the attraction to this event.

Register to win a $50 gift certificate and a grand prize of an overnight stay at Chelsea’s Comfort Inn, two tickets to the Purple Rose Theatre, and a $50 gift certificate to a participating restaurant. Register for the raffle at either Heydlauff’s Appliance or the Chelsea Depot Artisans Market. Both locations will be collecting non-perishable items, cleaning products and paper goods donations on behalf of Faith in Action.

Make reservations at a local hotel or bed and breakfast and spend a carefree day in Chelsea.

“People come in groups, mothers and daughters, sisters and cousins, to have fun and shop in Chelsea. It is amazing how many people come back each year,” said Mike Jackson owner of Vogel’s & Foster’s.

Details of the day, including a list of participating businesses and their in-house events, are available at www.shopchelseamich.com.

Be on the lookout for participating stores flying the #shopchelseamich pennants.
