Pancho Villa Mexican Restaurant closed its doors last weekend

Downtown Mexican restaurant Pancho Villa closed its 350 North Main St. doors last weekend.

“I’ve been in touch with the corporate people and it was an issue of declining sales,” said Bob Pierce, executive director of the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce.

According to the corporate website, the Chelsea Pancho Villa restaurant location was the only one in Michigan, while the company has eight restaurants in the south — primarily in Virginia with one restaurant in North Carolina.

“Pancho Villa Mexican Restaurant first opened its doors in May of 1993 in Culpepper, Virginia and was founded by the Pacheco Family,” according to the Website.

“We hate to see another restaurant close,” Pierce said, adding, “They were a great supporter of the chamber and of the community.”

  1. We just lost 30.00 on a gift card rec’d for Christmas. This closing was bad news to us. They freely took our money and never said there was any problems.

    • Have you thought about writing the corporate folks to explain your situation? You can Google Pancho Villa and look for a contact us tab on the website and write to them.
