Perfect: Beach Middle School swim team ends season, 7-0

The Beach Middle School swim team finished their dual meet season with a perfect 7-0 record, beating Milan Wednesday night, 113-70.

Eighth grader Anna Vanneste set the pace with the team’s seventh school record of the season. Her first place time of 29.60 in the 50 butterfly broke the record of 29.83 set in 2001 by Kara Stiles.

Other first place finishers were Collin Babycz, Isaac Smedshammer, Brian Jacobs, Lee Argir, Joey Mangner, Preston Ewald, and Kurt Jolly.

Other outstanding performances were turned in by Taylor Brodbeck, Logan Mahalak, Ethan Prodin and Cullen Lindsey.

Twenty team members qualified to represent the team at the MISCA State Invitational to be held at Holt High School on Feb. 1-2.
