With the annual 83rd annual Chelsea Community Fair Parade fast approaching, have you contacted the Chelsea Area Fire Authority to have your creation judged?

To be in the running for cash prizes and ribbons, you need a float permit. These can be found at www.Chelseafair.org or at www.chelseafire.org under news and events.

You can either fill the form out ahead of time or get one from Fire Station No. 1 on Middle Street. Permits should be dropped off at the fire station Saturday, Aug. 28.

This year’s parade will take place Saturday, Aug. 28 beginning at 1 p.m. and participants may begin lining up no earlier than 10 a.m.

Here is everything you need to know to participate in this wonderful tradition.

And, be sure you purchase lots of candy to toss to the thousands of folks who line the parade route that stretches all the way from Main Street to Old US-12 where the parade turns and heads toward the fairgrounds entrance where the parade officially ends.
