Publisher’s column: Happy Thanksgiving Week

Photo by Burrill Strong. Buzz would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving week from our home to yours.

The happiest of Thanksgiving weeks to everyone.

I’m doing so a little early this year because I plan to take this week to double my efforts to give thanks to as many people as possible, and to take a little time off.

I plan to show my gratitude to all the people in my life who have made this year a little better for me and I hope you will consider doing the same.

We are all so fortunate to live in a wonderful small town filled with many amazing people who are willing to help each other. I hope you take the time to think about what you can do to show your appreciation – not just this week, but every day of every week of every year.

It doesn’t have to be anything big or fancy, just a thank you.

Between this awful virus and the divisiveness of this election year, we just need to stop dwelling on the things that divide us and remember what we have in common. We need to flip the negativity and finger-pointing switch to one of positivity and compassion. Let’s rekindle the sense of community spirit that has always existed here.

Let’s begin treating each other as friends and neighbors again and use this week as a perfect opportunity to take those first steps.

With that in mind, I’d like to say thank you to the many folks who have graciously made donations to the on-going 7-day a week publication of Chelsea Update. I’ve done my very best to continuously provide you with the most up-to-date news as possible. Each and every day this year.

So, as always, if you’d like to help, you can make a donation via Paypal on the home page of Chelsea Update (look for the donate button) or send a check in any amount made out to Chelsea Update and mail it to 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118.

A huge thank you to:

  • Susan Morse
  • Michael Sweet
  • Dorothy Boughton
  • Pam and Howard Holmes

  • Susan Lackey
  • Elizabeth Jarratt
  • Crystal Hayduk
  • Faye Frederick
  • Susan Bauer

I know, like everything else this year, Thanksgiving will be different for all of us, but I hope you will do the right thing and count your blessings, stay safe and well.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
