Recent Obituary: Denise Kay ‘Dennie’ Schiller

Denise Kay “Dennie” Schiller of Chelsea, age 75, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the University of Michigan Hospital.

She was born Jan. 19, 1947 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Robert G. and Leona M. (Weinberg) Foster.

Dennie was a first grade teacher for the Chelsea School District for 38 years. She felt blessed to have shared her love of teaching with so many of Chelsea’s families. Dennie was not just a teacher…this was her calling and there was no one better at this profession.

She was effortless in delivering curriculum but magical in teaching life lessons. “Your heart always knows the truth,” were words overheard in her first-grade classroom.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel. A private burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
