Recent obituary: Jonathan J. Westcott

Jonathan J. Westcott passed away at the age of 24 on Aug. 3, 2019.

Jonny entered this world a firecracker on July 4, 1995, the son of Jay Westcott and Theresa Royce.

As the rowdy oldest brother in a big family, Jonny was the master of the chaos.  Many family stories begin with “Remember that time Jonny…”.  He broke furniture and bones, lost teeth, had a lot of bad ideas, and made life more fun for everyone he knew.

In high school he brought this to the football field, earning all-conference honors at defensive end with The Manchester Flying Dutchmen, making up for his lack of size in the position with speed, strength, smarts, and intensity.  Jonny graduated from Manchester High School, class of 2013, and attended Washtenaw Community College, where he took courses in pursuit of a career in the field of technology.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home. Jonny will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony.
