The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office sent an advisory this evening that WB I-94 at Pierce Road is back open. For full details, view this message on the web.
Since about noon on Jan. 21, I-94 westbound was shut down between Pierce Road and Old U.S. 12 in Chelsea due to a jack knifed tractor-trailer.
There are reports that three semis are involved in the closure, one that’s disabled, another that rolled over and a third that jack knifed. When more information becomes available, this story will be updated.
Please be careful on the slick roads and steer clear of I-94 if at all possible.
Here’s an advisory from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department: Due to a few bad crashes including a jack knifed semi truck, westbound traffic on I-94 is being routed off the freeway at Old US 12/Pierce Rd.
