The Chelsea Rotary Club will host a visit from Rotary District Governor Barry Fraser on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 12:15 p.m. at the Common Grill.

Fraser presides over District 6380 which includes Rotary Clubs in Michigan — including the Chelsea Club — and Ontario, Canada.

As District Governor, he leads district clubs in three strategic priorities: to support and strengthen clubs, to focus and increase humanitarian service, and to enhance public image and awareness.

Fraser is a member of the Rotary Club of Chatham, Ontario. He has a long and varied history with Rotary and has a passion for Rotary International’s Areas of Focus of ‘Water and Sanitation’ and ‘Economic and Community Development.’ As a Rotarian, he helped plant trees on school properties and led the construction of walking trails. He participated in National Immunization Days and Artificial Limb Camps for Polio in India.

He is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and and is inducted into the Chatham-Kent Agricultural Institute of Canada. With his credentials, experience, and interests, a lively and captivating discussion is sure to be on the agenda for the day’s meeting.

If you’ve ever been curious about Rotary, this is the meeting to attend.

Did you know? The Chelsea Rotary Club was the first Rotary Club in Michigan — and the seventh Rotary Club in the world — to initiate membership of women from its inception.
