Six candidates have filed with the Washtenaw County Clerk’s office to have their names on the November ballot in the non-partisan race to fill three open seats on the Chelsea School District Board of Education.

All three incumbents have chosen to seek re-election to the six year terms – Laura Bush, Laurel McDevitt, and Steve Olsen. Joining them on the ballot will be newcomers Susan Catherman, Shawn Quilter, and Kristin van Reesema.

According to information on the County Clerk’s website, Catherman and van Reesema filed their intention to run with nominating petitions. The other candidates filed by paying the nonrefundable fee of $100.

The deadline to withdraw from the ballot is 4 p.m. on July 29.

Chelsea Update will publish more information about each candidate at a later date.

  1. Lisa, I’ve noticed signs for Martinez-Kratz around town as well; have additional candidates thrown their hats into the ring?
