Today: march for MLK, Jr. Day

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Joanne Ladio for the information in this story.)

One World One Family will host a march for MLK, Jr. Day at 6 p.m. this evening with folks gathering at 5:50 p.m. at the Chelsea Municipal Building.

This is the 15th year that the group has celebrated Chelsea’s MLK Day celebration, so we thought a brief march would make a statement.

Commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s ideals and mission. We need to remember what he fought for and his impact on today’s events. Join us for a short march on Monday, Jan. 16. We will gather at 5.50 p.m. at the Chelsea Police Station.

The group will march down Main Street ending up at the library for the 6.30 p.m. showing of the film “Black and Blue, The Story of Gerald Ford, Willis Ward and the 1934 Michigan-Georgia Tech Football Game”.

There will be a discussion after the movie.

Participants are asked to bring signs and flashlights.
