Two fun Easter “hunt” activities planned this week

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Milbrodt and Kim Bass for the information in this story.)

On Saturday, March 31, the Chelsea High School Key Club will hold the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Chelsea Retirement Community beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Children may visit with the Easter Bunny beginning at 9:30 a.m. on the front lawn. Then the bunny will signal each of three age groups, beginning with the youngest, to begin hunting for those eggs. There will be a treat in each egg, and some will have a slip of paper which can be exchanged for a prize.

Everyone is welcome to enjoy the fun.

On Sunday, April 1, Chelsea Free Methodist Church is preparing to welcome hundreds of sugar-crazed kids onto the Washington St. Education Center Football Practice Field following the church’s Easter Sunday Gathering where 10,000 marshmallows will be dropped from a helicopter.

Three ages groups will “scramble” to pick up marshmallows to redeem for candy: 5 years old and under, 6-7 and 8-11 years old.

This is a free event open to anyone in the community. Adverse weather conditions may cause cancellation. Check our website for updates.

Kids (through age 11) are eligible to enter their name in a drawing to win a free drone.

One drone will be awarded for each “scramble” age group.

Chelsea Free Methodist Church periodically offers fun events like our Helicopter Marshmallow Drop to connect with and serve families with young kids in our community.

Before the helicopter makes its appearance, we would love to have you join us for our Easter Gathering in the WSEC Auditorium where we meet each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. You’ll hear some encouraging music, an inspiring message with practical application, and be greeted by a welcoming community.
