- Americans throw approximately 35 tons of 16 ounce plastic bottles away each hour.
- One recycled ton of plastic bottles can save enough energy to run a two-person home for a year.
- Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to power a TV for three hours.
- One recycled glass jar can power an 11 watt CFL bulb for 20 hours.
- One ton of recycled cardboard saves 46 gallons of oil.
