8th Grade Gold
Tuesday night, the 8th grade Gold team lost to Saline in their season finale.
The Dawgs had several big plays including a touchdown pass from Jacob Schultz to Tyler Wallgren for a 30-yard score. Kemp Goehmann added the 2-point conversion for the Bulldogs.
Isaac Stoker led the defense with a fumble recovery and Dillon Hutchinson had a 50-yard kickoff return.
The Dawgs improved all season long and look forward to next season.
7th Grade Blue
The 7th grade blue football team traveled to Tecumseh Tuesday to take on the Indians in the last contest of the season.
Behind some great blocking from the offensive line, including John Piatt, Ian Carter, Grayson Eckland, Colin Ledbetter, Colton Sutch, and Gavin Thompson, the offensive team racked up 20 points, enough for the win.
Quarterbacks Hunter Shaw and Jayden Woody ran an effective offensive dishing the ball off to Cole Munson for all three touchdowns. Woody also served as fullback and turned in several up-the-middle runs for big yards and as a receiver catching a two-point conversion pass from Munson. Credit Drew Maguire for a critical screen pass reception for a first down for the Dogs.
Defensively, the Dogs came to play holding Tecumseh to 14 points and stuffing the Indians for losses several times, including a big tackle for loss by Finn Clatcher, a sack by Grayson Eckland and Landon Collins, and a critical interception by Ethan Lyles (assisted by Ryan Martin).
Making big contributions defensively with their much improved play containing the corners were Dan Garza, Collins, Lyles, and Munson.
This was the second victory for the 7th grade Blue football team and closes out their season.
7th Grade Gold
The 7th grade gold team lost to Saline last night to end the season.
Leading the defense with tackles for losses were Joey Formigan, Raven Velarde-Martin, Andrew Hilbert, Chandler Cox and Nolan Sinkwitts.
Joey Formigan and Carter Yax also had interceptions.
Ty Wagner led the Bulldogs rushing attack with several nice runs.
