The Chelsea Girls’ track and field team placed 2nd at the Chelsea Relays with 77 points out of eight teams, coming up just 2 points short of winning.

Holt won the meet with 79 points.

The Lady Bulldogs had four first-place finishes and a second-place finish.

There were nine girls with PRs, which is an indication of their mindset at the meet. We just came up a little short against Holt.

Relay Highlights:

  • The discuses throwers comprised of Jordan Holton, Madison Burlett, and Kyle Bragg threw a total combined distance of 260′ 4″, which placed them first among the teams.
  • The pole vault team of Jenna Gileczek and Sabrina Matusko finished first with a height of 17′ 0″.
  • The Bert Kruse Relay (300m hurdles, 200m dash, 600m dash, and 400m) finished first with a time of 4:07.06, missing the meet record by 0.5 seconds. “It was a really fun relay to watch,” the coach said, adding the girls dominated other teams in this event.
  • The 4×400 relay team comprised of Kaehla Manly, Sydney Matusik, Riley Thorburn, and Myranda Montoye placed first with a time of 4:17.07.
  • The 4x3200m relay (Emily Chizek, Allison Hause, Morgan Kurth, and Riley Thorburn) placed second to a strong DeWitt distance team.
