Chelsea girl’s track and field wins Chelsea Relays

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Shane Rodriguez for the information in this story. And, my apologies for putting the tennis team’s photo up with the girls track story. )

The Chelsea Girl’s Track and Field team won the 2014 Chelsea Relays last weekend.

“We had a great day, featuring wonderful weather and a smooth meet,” said Coach Shane Rodriguez, who added, “The girls really excelled on our home track, and soundly defeated some excellent teams, including East Lansing and DeWitt.”

The coach said it’s hard to believe that the team is almost at the half-way point of the season, and “I anticipate only more improvement in the weeks ahead.”

He commended the girls for “training hard and accomplishing their goals. We are truly lucky to coach such an incredible group of girls.”

He said he’s “especially thrilled with the depth of our field events and the awesome times our sprint relays captured. “

Additionally, the coach said, “The distance crew looked great in the 4×3200 meter relay.”
