(Chelsea Update is running a series on businesses in Chelsea beginning with businesses that belong to the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce.)

Eric and Amy VanHevel work for Thrivent Financial®, but they have their own financial services company in Chelsea, located at 1250 S. Main St.

“We are a nonprofit that is a membership organization of Christians and we focus on helping people and living generously,” explained Eric VanHevel.

Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce logoHe said that Thrivent helps people through the five “S’s”- surviving, struggling, stable, secure, surplus. Giving back is one of their principles.

“We don’t pay most of the taxes many other financial companies pay, so we direct that back to our clients,” said VanHevel.

The couple moved to Chelsea in 2011 and began working for Thrivent in 2014. Eric is a lead financial consultant, and Amy is a financial associate.

They like to host events and workshops focusing on educating clients.

“We’re ambassadors for the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, which has been a great connection,” added VanHevel.
