Light snow and a visit from Santa Clause added to the atmosphere at the annual Chelsea Senior Center Christmas Lunch.

Celebrity servers from the Chelsea area were in attendance along with 182 seniors, who feasted on roast beef, red skin potatoes, green beans, salad and raspberry cake.

Following the meal and Santa’s visit, Friends in Harmony performed and then lead a Christmas carol sing-a-long that included “Let it Snow”, “Jingle Bells”, “Silver Bells”, and “Joy to the World”.

“We come every year because it’s so nice to see so many people,” said Ramona Baltimore from Waterloo.

Dining companion Frank Dillon said his main reason for attending is the food. Gerald Williams from Lima Township concurred, and his wife Mary Williams proudly shared that her craft group made the decorations.

“It’s just wonderful that people can get together and enjoy the holiday,” said Trinh Pifer, executive director of the Chelsea Senior Center.

The Christmas Lunch was sponsored by the Mitchell family.
