Owning her own business has been a longtime goal for Samantha Marie Bogdanski, and now the Chelsea native can make that claim. She owns Maid in Chelsea, LLC, a cleaning business that she launched in February 2014 with the motto, “We don’t cut corners; We clean them.”

“Business has thrived solely off referrals,” said Bogdanski. “I currently serve Chelsea, Dexter, and Ann Arbor, and am open to surrounding areas.”

Most of Bogdanski’s business consists of residential cleaning though she does have a few commercial properties.

“Spring through Fall entail many move-in and move-outs,” she said.

Bogdanski currently works alone but may hire employees as the business continues to grow. She charges $25 per hour and brings her own supplies.

“I have been researching and testing green products at home,” said Bogdanski. “Later this year, I will be introducing new products, at no extra charge, for those who are interested.”

She currently uses products infused with essential oils.

“I have found Eucalyptus is a natural germicide, and Orange prohibits bacterial growth,” said Bogdanski. “They smell amazing and aid in reducing stress.”

Bogdanski grew up in Chelsea and moved to Kalamazoo to attend Western Michigan University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. After graduation, she moved back to Chelsea and found herself working two jobs to make ends meet. She spent her weekdays cleaning houses and her nights and weekends working as a hairstylist.

Two months ago, Bogdanski began doing her cleaning job full time.

“I want to improve the lives of my clients and I believe this starts in the home,” said Bogdanski.
