Last chance to get fresh, healthy fruit from the Chelsea Kiwanis Club

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club reminds folks that the Florida fruit shipment will arrive this week and if you didn’t already order some, there will be a limited quantity available until Thursday, Dec. 14, which can be ordered by contacting club members on their website: www.kiwanisclubofchelsea.org.

Last week, Gretchen Steele from Chelsea Athletic Boosters, cleared up a common misconception that the school district pays for all the district’s athletic equipment.

She said that shoulder pads and helmets are two examples of very expensive items that the booster help purchase.

Although much revenue is generated by football fans, the boosters spread out money equally to all sports teams in both the middle and high school.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m. Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
