Recent obituary: Paul Weber

weber-paulwebPaul M. Weber of Chelsea, age 77, died peacefully Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 near his bird feeder at his home.

He was born Jan. 6, 1939 in Metamora, MI, the son of John A. and Flora M. (Shipp) Weber.

Paul has lived in Chelsea most of his life. He played football for Chelsea High School, and graduated in 1957. Paul enlisted in the Army. He was active in the Chelsea First United Methodist Church, where he served as custodian for many years.

Paul worked at the Ann Arbor Fire Department from 1968 until his retirement. He was an active member and past president of Chelsea Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Award and several “Lion of the Year” awards. Paul worked part-time for Ernst Electric. After retirement, he enjoyed going to coffee with his friends. He did a lot of woodworking and enjoyed farming, especially with his children.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 15, 11:00 am, at Chelsea First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Joy Barrett officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am.  Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Chelsea.
