Recent obituary: Sharon Lowry

Lowry_Sharon_closeSharon (Lancaster) Lowry of Chelsea, age 61, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at her home after an extended battle with cancer.

She was born Aug. 12, 1952 in Howell, MI the daughter of Thomas B. & Shirley A. (Gyde) Lancaster.

Sharon graduated from Saline High School in 1970. She attended Eastern Michigan University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. Sharon worked at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, did research at U of M, and worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Clinical Labs for 29 years, and ended her career as a Quality Assurance Manager at the U of M Blood Bank. She was a member of Michigan Association of Blood Banks. Sharon belonged to Scattered Threads Quilting group, and shared many quilts with her family members. Sharon enjoyed hiking in the Smokies, gardening, and she loved her kitty cats. She loved life and was very active.
