Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assigns A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide for patient safety, announced recently that St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea received an “A” ranking for Fall 2016.

This follows a similar “A” ranking received in Spring 2016.

“Patient care of the highest quality and patient safety are at the center of how we provide care to our patients,” said Nancy Graebner, president and CEO of St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea in a press release. “We are proud to be recognized among the safest hospitals in the United States.”

Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year.  It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
