United Methodist Retirement Communities (UMRC) Foundation announced recently that it received an anonymous $50,000 Challenge Grant to help create therapeutic gardens for memory care residents at UMRC’s Towsley Village Memory Care Center in Chelsea.

The grant will match community members’ gifts up to $50,000 total that are postmarked by Friday, July 10.

“Gardens help nurture body, mind and spirit, especially for our seniors living with dementia,” said Wendy Brightman, president, UMRC Foundation. “We are so grateful for this generous matching gift opportunity which doubles the impact of our donors’ gifts of any size, and helps bring this important garden project to life.”
