1st Lima Township-wide neighborhood watch meeting well attended

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bill and Roben Coury for the information in this story.)

About 60 people attended the recent Lima Township neighborhood watch meeting to learn about this new township-wide program.

In addition to learning how the program works from Deputy Nancy Hansen of the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, several new block captains were chosen and the township is on its way to expanding the program.

“I would like to extend a special thank you to Nancy Hansen with the WCSD for her time, efforts and handling some in-depth questions regarding dispatch procedures for 911 calls as well as many other questions,” Bill Coury said via email.

For those who were not able to attend the meeting, more block captains are needed to help cover the areas that are not yet fully covered.

“We want to include everyone who wants to participate in the watch program,” Coury said.

To join, email your name and address to [email protected] and it will be added to the township’s contact list.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Lima Township Hall, 11452 Jackson Road.
