A new year brings new hope and dreams.
When we make New Year’s resolutions, we realize very quickly how hard they can be to keep.
So makes ones that not only stick, but also are attainable.
Here are some ideas to turn this year into your best year yet:
1.) Write them down. Taking the time to write them down and having them in a place you can refer to will help.
2.) Don’t try to do it all in January. Break up your goals throughout the year. Trying to accomplish it all in the first month is asking for failure.
3.) Big goals to baby steps. If you’re just getting into working out, don’t go from 0 to 5 days a week right away. Aim for 3 days the first month, 4 the second, etc.
4.) Help from your friends. We always do better with support. If you can get a friend to join you in your resolution, you will encourage each other throughout the year.
5.) Identify your times wasters. Whether it be social media, TV, or anything else, notice where you waste time so that it doesn’t interfere with your resolutions.
6.) Sometimes a year isn’t enough. Look at the past year and how your resolutions went. Maybe you didn’t fulfill your whole resolution but made steps toward our goal. Use this year to perfect them.
If you have struggled to keep resolutions, try these helpful tips and see if you have better luck.
Having goals is the most important thing; how you execute them is in your hands.
Good luck and happy New Year.
