26-0: Undefeated Chelsea Girl’s Track and Field Team

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Shane Rodriguez, head girl’s track and field coach for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Girl’s Track and Field Team extended its dual meet win streak to 26-0 with a 88-55 victory over the Adrian Maples.

“Overall the team performed well,” said Shane Rodriguez, head girl’s track coach.

“We have fantastic depth in many of our events and races, and this lets us get many girls involved, rest some athletes, and bounce back from illness and injury,” he said.

Multiple girls had standout performances in the meet, including Grace Sauers in the 300 hurdles and Megan Lowe in the 100 hurdles.

The 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relay teams posted some impressive times, the coach said.

“The coaching staff is very proud of all of the athletes, as they are working hard and improving nicely,” he said.

The team is looking  forward to hosting the revival of the Chelsea Relays on Friday, April 19.
