3 Beach Middle School students named Farm Bureau Insurance essay contest winners

Marah Putnam, Seren Angus and Grace Miriam Ratliff were recently named local winners in the 51st Annual America & Me Essay contest sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance agent Rick Eder.

This year’s topic was “My Personal Michigan Hero.”

Putnam’s winning essay advanced to the state level competition for the Top 10 essays in Michigan. Angus and Ratliff’s essays were second and third respectively.

All three received award certificates and the first-place winner’s name will be engraved on a plaque for permanent display at the school.
