St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea to host free diabetes prevention program

St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will hold a free Diabetes Prevention Program at Chelsea Wellness Center, 14800 E. Old US-12, on Mondays beginning Feb. 17 from 2 to 3 p.m.

For those interested in learning more, a free informational session will be held on Feb. 10 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the same location.

The program will consist of 16 weekly sessions followed by monthly maintenance sessions.

The Diabetes Prevention Program is intended for anyone at risk of type 2 diabetes. It will help educate participants on strategies to become more active, control food intake, lose weight, manage stress, think positively and more.

This program is free, but registration is required.
