Kelly re-elected Dexter Township supervisor, Brushaber new treasurer

Democratic Dexter Township Supervisor Pat Kelly was re-elected Tuesday defeating her Republican challenger Jim Drolett by 81 votes.

Kelly received 1,818 votes and Drolett got 1,737 votes,  according to unofficial results.

In addition, township voters approved a new millage to build a new fire substation 1,788 votes to 1,677 votes.

Incumbent Township Clerk Harley Rider, a Republican, ran unopposed for his position and received 2,474 votes.

Current Republican trustee Libby Brushaber will take on a new role in the township later this month as its treasurer. She defeated her Democratic opponent Dana Bullen, 1,817 votes to 1,633 votes.

The new Township Board is expected to include Republican incumbent Carl Lesser, incumbent Jason Maciejewski, Republican Mike Howard and Democrat Anne Buchho, according to unofficial results.

Lesser was the high vote getter among the trustee candidates with 1,802 votes and Maciejewski was second with 1,647 votes.

Just one vote separated Howard, who finished third with 1,632 votes, and Buchho who finished fourth with 1,631 votes, and fifth-place finisher Republican Bill Gajewski who got 1,630 votes.

Republican John Emerick had 1,576 votes and Steve Feinman, a Democrat, finished with 1,504 votes.
