Reminder: You’re invited to the Jan. 23 Friends of the Chelsea District Library annual meeting

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Jean Vargas for the information in this story.)

Anyone interested is invited to the Friends of the Chelsea District Library (FoCDL) annual meeting on Jan. 23 from 10:30-noon via Zoom.

The Friends are a non-profit organization that fundraises, predominantly through used book sales, to sponsor and supplement the extraordinary programming that the Chelsea District Library (CDL) presents. The board of the Friends usually meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month in the library. It is an open meeting, so all are welcome.

At the meeting, the group will review 2020, nominate/elect board members, discuss the library wish list and 2021 funding, look at book sales, and hear a report from Lori Coryell, library director on the “Challenge of Covid-19”.

Since April 2020, our meetings have been virtual. You will find additional information on our Facebook page or on our website: https://friends.chelseadistrictlibrary.org/

We welcome new members to the Friends – where membership has its privileges. Members are able to enjoy special event previews, preferred seating, and post-performance meet and greet opportunities with performing artists and musicians at Friends’ sponsored events.

In 2021, we are adding a new benefit for our members only.  Members will be able to choose a book from the Primo books during their birthday month. Another new benefit will be announced at the annual meeting.

We invite you to join our Annual Meeting via Zoom or your smart phone.
