What’s Happening at Hometown Holiday Today

The Bruce’s Breakfast with Santa and the Nadine Anderson Santa Workshop have been modified into Donuts & Selfies with Santa that will take place on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. until noon inside BBQ 52 at 125 S. Main St.

Stop by Smokehouse 52 BBQ to grab a selfie with Santa and everyone in line will receive a free donut (while supplies last).

Santa will be inside Smokehouse 52 BBQ and everyone will line up outside the building. The “garage” doors outside Smokehouse 52 BBQ will be open so that Santa can interact safely with the kids, and families can take photos without window glare.

On Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is the return of the All the Trimmings Holiday Artisan Show at the Chelsea Fairgrounds.

The 14th annual artisan show features rug hooking, bears, vintage collectables and antiques, wood carvings, jewelry, artwork, fiber arts and Christmas greens. There is free admission, parking and refreshments.

Across the street at 20500 West Old US 12, St. Barnabas Church will host its annual quilt show and sale from 10-3 p.m. There will be a free quilt raffle, crafts and a baked goods sale as well.

Among the downtown events are the 2021 Children’s Christmas Bazaar at the Chelsea First United Methodist Church with registered shopping spots beginning at 9:30 a.m. and running until 3 p.m.

The day finishes with a flourish and the annual light parade down Main Street, which begins at 6 p.m. the intersection of Old 12 and M-52 and proceeds into the downtown to Jackson Street.
