Chelsea Senior Center Offering Grant-Funded Reflective Address Signs

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Sharon Kegerreis for the information in this story.)

Chelsea Senior Center (CSC) is offering free reflective address signs for area seniors. CSC secured funding to provide area seniors (age 60+) reflective address signs at no cost thanks to the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) program managed by Washtenaw County.

CSC is managing this program in conjunction with the Chelsea Area Fire Authority (CAFA). The highly reflective, customized signs are visible in the day and nighttime, affording greater visibility for emergency vehicles locating your home.

Signs are available on a first-come basis while supplies last; one sign per household for residents aged 60 years or older in the CAFA service area of Chelsea, Lima, Lyndon, Sylvan and parts of Dexter Township.

Registration forms are available at the Chelsea Senior Center during normal business hours. Forms must be picked up in person, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To place your order, you must take a completed registration form from CSC to CAFA at Station 1, 200 West Middle St.

Completed forms may be turned into CAFA between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Stop in anytime at CSC or plan to visit on May 23 to pick up your form and your free Senior Market Bucks for the Chelsea Farmers Market, courtesy of Chelsea Hospital. (You must be 60 years or older for the market bucks.)

CSC’s monthly birthday lunch is also on May 23. Sign up for lunch in advance and enjoy a slice of cake with a hot meal and trip to the salad bar. Birthday lunches recognize May birthdays.
