Beach wrestlers compete tough at Tecumseh Invite

The Beach Middle School wrestling team had its first competition of the season Saturday at the Tecumseh Invitational.

Nine wrestlers were able to place top 4 in their weight class. First-place finishers were Cole Munson and Luke Vella.

Munson was in complete control in all three of his matches and eventually pinned all of his opponents.

Vella had three thrilling come-from-behind victories including scoring 4 points in the last 30 seconds of his championship match to win 8-7.

Second-place finishers were Dillon Hutchison and Ian Carter.

Third-place finishers were Jake Kunzelman and AJ Tokarski.

Dalton Grabarczyk, Jaice Ray, and Colton Sutch finished in 4th place.

Wrestlers to win at least one match Saturday were Daniel Garza, Dominic Guthre, Raiden Weston, Nolan Sinkwitts, Henry Lantis, Finn Clacher, Brian Morgans, and Aiden McGuire.

The wrestlers travel to Dexter on Thursday, then host the Chelsea Invitational Saturday at the high school.
