The rock — all dressed up for Paint Chelsea Pink Saturday

The Rock all decked out for Saturday's Paint Chelsea Pink party.

The Chelsea Area Fire Authority would like to thank Austin Hale for painting The Rock Friday morning so visitors to Chelsea feel welcome to town as they participate in Paint Chelsea Pink Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

The firefighters and the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting the breast cancer fundraising event that benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure Mid-Michigan.

The more than 100 participating businesses will have pink and white balloons outside their locations. Shoppers are encouraged to buy $25 passports and visit at least a dozen businesses and have them stamped. Then, they can trade in their stamped passports for a chance at special prizes at an after party that takes place at Chelsea Lanes.

Friday morning the tent for the party was up in the Chelsea Lanes’ parking lot. In addition, light poles throughout the town were adorned with pink ribbon.

Organizers are hoping that several thousand people will participate in the fundraising event that will benefit people in the community.

  1. What a wonderful event. As someone currently in treatment for breast cancer, it warmed my heart last night to see all the light poles wrapped in pink. Thanks Chelsea FIrefighters, Chamber of Commerce and all your volunteers. We’ll be downtown today!

  2. Jacques will be downtown greeting people and posing for photos at Global Marketplace. He also has cards to sell of himself and many of his friends (furry, scaled, and feathered). The proceeds from the cards all go to Susan G. Komen fund.

Come out and have a great day in Chelsea.
