If you are interested in signing up for free tax preparation assistance, it is time to make an appointment at the Chelsea Senior Center for AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) Tax Aide help.
Appointments can be made starting immediately and are required. No walk-ins are permitted.
The appointments are aimed at people aged 50 and over, who are low to moderate income tax-payers. The AARP preparers will work on simple returns, not business returns with employees or farm income. They help with Federal, State, Home Property Tax, and Home Heating Credits.
Chelsea appointments are available on Thursdays, from Feb. 13 through April 10, at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. Call 734-475-9242 to schedule an appointment. The Chelsea Senior Center is located at 512 Washington St.
