Discover ways to volunteer in Chelsea.

There is a strong, active community that enjoys a variety of nonprofits, organizations and groups. But no matter what their size, goals, or purpose, each one of these groups has one thing in common: they rely heavily upon their volunteers for success.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and it’s a great time to connect with friends and neighbors to lend a helping hand, share your knowledge or skills, and help build a strong community.

The Volunteer Chelsea portal on chelseamich.com connects nonprofit organizations and potential volunteers. Users can browse volunteer opportunities by type, such as health and wellness, outdoor recreation, social services or the arts, and connect directly with the nonprofit.

The Volunteer Chelsea initiative was funded by a grant from the Chelsea Wellness Coalition, as part of the initiative to “connect with others in healthy ways.” The Volunteer Chelsea portal is part of the chelseamich.com website, the official website for the Chelsea, Michigan community and a program of the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce, with funding from the DDA and the City of Chelsea.
