Michigan residents have until Monday, July 8 to register to vote in the Aug. 6 election.
To register, applicants must be age 18 by Election Day and be U.S. citizens. Applicants must also be residents of Michigan and of the city or township in which you wish to register.
Although there are no elections in Chelsea in August, those not registered can still do so and be ready to cast votes for the City Council election in November.
There are 56 counties in the state holding elections and primaries.
