In her 10th year as the superintendent of Ladies Day, Mary Tobin selected a terrific variety of performers to entertain the hundreds of ladies who arrived bright and early to the Multipurpose Area for the always popular event at the 76th Annual Chelsea Community Fair.

After standing in line — some before 7 a.m. — the fun got started with a singing trio Counterpoint.

And, in between waves of door prize giveaways from about 70 Chelsea and Dexter businesses, the talent continued with the four fair queen candidates and 2012 Fair  Queen Courtney Cook performing a dance number.

Then about a dozen trained dancers from Studio 3 Performing Arts Center took the stage to perform.

As always, the top four homemaker contestants were announced as they waited to find out who would take home the crown as the Junior  Homemaker and Adult Homemaker of the 2013 fair.

The junior homemaker honors went to Morgan Kern, who had a very busy week showing her animals as well as performing all the duties expected of the fair queen candidates.

Runner-up junior homemaker was Danielle Lobdell.

The coveted adult homemaker title was awarded to Rachael Varblow, who won the crown, plaque and bouquet of  flowers as the 2013 Adult Homemaker of the Year.

Diane Edman took the runner-up honors.

Wrapping up the festivities was a fashion show with clothing and accessories provided by Vogel’s and Foster’s. The mix of fashions  was worn by the fair queen candidates — Kern, Emily Morris, Katie Hicks and Kelsey Olberg, Courtney Cook and the Fair Queen superintendent Heather Cook.  They donned absolutely gorgeous outfits from the downtown Chelsea clothing store.
