At the Farmers’ Market on Saturday, May 17 is Market Basket Giveaway Day, so be sure to fill out an entry form at the market information table.

Plus, the “Money Tree” will be given away during a drawing of the names of everyone who supported the “Friends of the Chelsea-Area Market”  fundraiser, as well as for those who filled out surveys or joined the walking program.

And, if you haven’t done so already, there’s still time to go to the market information table, fill out a survey, join the Friends of the Chelsea-Area Market (I did) and/or join the walking program to get your name in the drawing.

You can also buy a market T-shirt for $30 or a tote bag for $20.

veggiesWhen you arrive at the market,  please enter through municipal lot entrance across from Police Station, right turn only and look for pedestrians.

There is no parking or drive-through in the Palmer Auto lot next door. Bathrooms can be used at the Police Station.
On another note, walkers who don’t feel safe crossing at the crosswalk can walk down to the light at Park Street to cross M-52. The market is working on finding volunteers to support pedestrian crossings.

The market is open from 8 a.m. – noon.

So, sign up for the Chelsea Community Hospital Healthy Communities Walking Program and receive market bags, walking maps and join a walking groups that meet at the market every week.

There will also be a special musical guest at the market this week — Dorkastra will play to bring awareness to the “Deny the Mine” effort on behalf of The Friends of Chelsea and Lyndon Township.
