(Chelsea Update would like to thank Megan Trenary for the information in this story.)
On Saturday, Aug. 12, Chelsea Outfitters (105 S. Main St) will be hosting a free clinic to help people repair worn and torn backpacks, lunchboxes, and coats in preparation for the new school year.
Supplies available include a large variety of patches and materials, nylon webbing and cords, replacement clips, buckles, as well as sewing machines and needle and thread.
Simple repairs can save you a lot of money, reduce a lot of waste, and can be really fun. Patches and stitches can also be used to make beautiful customizations to your gear.
Tools and support are free, choice of patches and replacement parts priced as marked.
We are also accepting donations of clean lightly worn or repairable backpacks which we will repair and donate to organizations in need of back to school supplies.
