Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights wraps up its free summer concert series on Thursday, Aug. 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Throughout the event’s 11-week run, more than 100 entertainment acts performed throughout downtown Chelsea. This week, the finale includes some of the season’s best music, dance, performance art and family entertainment.

“This season of Sounds and Sights has been a huge success, and we can already see the positive impact it has had on the community and local arts,” says event co-organizer and Chelsea Area Chamber Director Bob Pierce.  “We are thankful for the loyal support of our sponsors, local merchants, and the many volunteers who make Sounds and Sights possible.”`

Stormfront will feature classic rock at Katie’s Korner on the library lawn.

The country rock-crossover, Seven Bridges performs at the South Street stage, and singer-songwriter Dave Boutette performs at the East Alley stage.

The popular Americana quartet, Escaping Pavement, returns to Sounds and Sights at East Middle Street and Old Friends will be showcasing pop music from the 1950’s through today at Sylvan Courtyard.

The acoustic rock ensemble, Bob Skon Trio, performs at the Glazier building stage and local favorite, Dorkestra, features jazz under the Clocktower Gazebo.

In addition to the music, there is something for the whole family throughout the night including 3 Generations Entertainment balloons for the kids at the Main Street Alley, and Eric the Juggler at the kid’s stage in the Clocktower Courtyard.

Visitors are also able to interact with SculptureWalk Chelsea, a self-guided walking tour of 12 juried sculptures which are a part of a year-long community arts project.

At dust, SRSLY outdoor cinema presents “Star Trek Into Darkness” (PG-13) on the Clocktower lawn.

Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights is presented by Chelsea Area Festivals and Events and is able to offer free entertainment to the community thanks to more than 100 sponsors, including the City of Chelsea Downtown Development Authority, Chelsea State Bank, Jiffy Mixes, The Common Grill, Cleary’s Pub, Edward Jones, Chelsea Rhone, St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea, Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation, Rich Taylor Real Estate – Reinhart, Roberts Paint & Body, Total Smiles Dental Group and LaJolla Fine Jewelry.
