Throughout the 10-week run, more than 100 entertainment acts performed throughout downtown Chelsea.  And, saving some of the best acts for last, this week includes  music, dance, magic, performance art and family entertainment.

  • Trio Tumbao with Paul Vornhagen will feature Latin jazz on the library stage.
  • The acoustic pop-crossover, Crossbow & the Roadshow perform at the South Street stage, and singer-songwriter Ian Stewart performs blues and folk at the East Alley stage.
  • The popular Gypsy-jazz group, The Appleseed Collective, returns to Sounds and Sights showcasing Americana music at Sylvan Courtyard.
  • The blues ensemble, The Bluesmastics, perform at the Glazier building stage and local favorite, Blue Seven feature jazz under the Clocktower Gazebo.
  • On the East Middle Street stage, the Tree of Life dancers and drummers join forces with Dorkestra musicians to bring a funky version of world music and dance that they call “Pan World Chelsea.”  The Tree of Life Drum and & Dance Society consists of professional drummers specializing in West African, Brazilian, and Cuban rhythms collaborating with dancers trained in jazz, tap, modern, ballet, Brazillian, East and West African dance.

The Tree of Life will also be represented by Tribal Roots Fusion Belly Dancing who will be lending their exotic moves to the funky fusion of Dorkestra’s unique eclectic music repertoire.

  • In addition to the music, 3 Generations Entertainment balloons for the kids at the Main Street Alley, and A2 Magic at the kid’s stage in the Clocktower Courtyard.
  • The interactive performance art group, Spontaneous Art, returns for the series finale with a “top-secret” performance designed to engage spectators of all ages.
  • Visitors are also able to interact with SculptureWalk Chelsea, a self-guided walking tour of 12 juried sculptures which are a part of a yearlong community arts project.
  • At dusk, SRSLY outdoor cinema presents “Avatar” (PG-13) on the Clocktower lawn.

“This season of Sounds & Sights has been a huge success, and we can already see the positive impact it has had on the community and local arts,” says event co-organizer and Chelsea Area Chamber Director Bob Pierce.

“We are thankful for the loyal support of our sponsors, local merchants, and the many volunteers who make Sounds & Sights possible,” he says in a press release.`
